Microsoft pulled out the latest Windows 10 October update. Users reported that their documents, photos, entire profile are being wiped out after the update. Some also reported losing all files in the “My Documents” folder which is stored in drive D.
Users made a temporary fix by disabling the user profile deletion in the registry.
Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/User Profiles/Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart - THIS NEEDS TO BE DISABLED OR SET TO NOT CONFIGURED
Microsoft delayed the pushing of update via Windows Auto Update and currently investigating the reports. The said 1809 update can be obtained if you do a manual update but be sure to back up your data in case you are affected by the bug.
