There are confirmed reports of system performance loss after installing Windows 10 update code-named KB4482887. Intel has confirmed the issue and asks the users to uninstall them. See image below to how to uninstall it. Remember to restart your system after uninstalling the specific update.
To disable automatic updates follow the steps below. I don’t suggest this option but there are times I need to do this when I am doing performance testing.
- Press windows button + R then type “gpedit.msc”. This opens the Local Group Policy Editor.
- Then in your left menu tree, go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components
- Then select Windows Update
- Then open Configure Windows Update
- Select Disable and Press OK
- Restart your system
